Canada Mortgage And Housing Corporation -3rd Quarter Results For 2011
1) New home construction forecast to be 26,000 starts in 2011
2) New home construction for 2012 forecast to be 29,000
3) Price movements are expected to be moderate during remainder of 2011, due to balance resale market conditions
4) British Columbia average home price increased 14% in 2011. This is due in the most part to the relationship to the 1st half of this years record setting housing prices in a couple of areas.

Vancouver Housing Report
Vancouver housing starts as reported by Canada mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) increased compared to the same month last year, totalling 1,329 homes. Almost 75% of all homes were multiple - family units. "Multiple-family housing starts continue to grow in popularity throughout the Census Metropolitan Area", said Robyn Adamache, CMHC's Senior Market Analyst.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted annual rate of total housing starts decreased to 179,000 units in April, from 184,700 units in March. In British Columbia, April's seasonally adjusted rate of urban housing starts moved higher to 22,600 units from 18,300 units the previous month.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Released It's Housing Starts for February 2011
Apartments, townhouses and semi detached homes made up more than 85% of all housing starts in February 2011. Housing starts totalled 1,414 across the Vancouver Census Metropolitan Area (CMA). To read the full report click the link below:

Canada Housing and mortgage Corporation released their February 2011 Housing starts.
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation is reporting that there were 1,414 housing starts in the Vancouver Census Metropolitan Area(CMA). These starts include apartments, townhomes and detached homes. "Over 85% of the housing starts were in Multi-family" says CMHC. Most of these were located in richmond, Coquitlam and Surrey with easy access to major transportation routes.
Nationally we saw 181,900 housing starts.
In British Columbia we saw 24,100 starts.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporations January 2011 housing starts
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation is reporting that housing starts for Vancouver Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) in January increased compared to the same month last year totalling 1436 homes.
What we are seeing now is these projects that were on paper 1 to 2 years ago, breaking ground this year.
The National housing starts are 170,400 units in January compared to 169,000 last year.
